I remember when i first started playing and thought pre-searing was it, thinking that i just wasted $50 on a piece of crap, then someone in the outpost told me bout going to post-searing and seeing the post map the first time made my jaw dropped...

I remember the first time i did The Great Northern Wall and found it very fun being chased by the charrs and actually making it at the end...my first ever gw mission experience...

I remember i never even dared to do the bonus for THK because of how difficult the mission itself already was...and how people being stuck there for weeks...and the monk strike and how i missed having my monk participate in it...

I remember running people thru the elona mission and actually making a hell lot of money with my warrior

I remember being run to Droknar's from Beacon's...then learned how to do it myself, and completing my first ever successful run to tips

I remember when Sorrow's Furnace came out, and there was constantly more than 10 districts, and greens were worth a fortune.

I remember when it was easy to get in a pug for missions...and even though it wasnt as efficient as heroes nowaday...i still prefer how i actually had people to talk to while playing...now, i feel like i'm playing an offline game...

I remember when Prophecie's quests offer skills as rewards...and there was motivation in doing them....now with factions and nightfalll...the only way to get them is from skill trainers...

I remember getting my first and only FOW armor for my warrior...and how it cost me about 1.5-2 mil...

I remember pvping in the Ascalon Arena was actually fun...

o well that's all i can think of for now

The monk strike can be explained in this way(not only for THK mind you)

wammo: guys, this mission has to be done the right way, let me go kill that group

monk: No ffs, don't aggro

wammo aggros

monk can't handle the pressure (no LoD those days ^^)

wammo: Jeez, you stupid monk mending isn't strong enough to keep me alive forever! Why didn't u heal breeze me???

monk logs out

The End

It was a great story to tell.

Well it was around the time of prophecies only. Monks were complaining that they weren't getting the respect for the amazing job they were doing: healing and protecting other players.

So Large numbers of Monks appeared in Thunderhead Keep (one of the hardest/most annoying missions). And did not accept any invites.
"No Deal No Heal" was commonly said by every monk.

After a day or two, things started to get back in order with monks and other players.

It saddens me to see what kind of game GW has been. Myself I started playing in December '06.

I remember when I got my first 15K armor. It was very cool when you farmed money for it by farming Hydras with W/Mo. :P

Yeah, because I made a monk and ignored the strikers.

I got any group I wanted in those days. I miss that.

I remember when The Last Pride was the guild of guilds.

I remember when I beat Hell's Precipice, before finding out what runes were/did.

I remember when I could bear people's stupidity in PuGs.

lvl 20 people were considered amazing for a bit and in earlier missions you could not fail with them which ofcourse we've learnt lvl 20 doesnt make you great.
Anyone else remember the centaur mission and how hard the bonus used to be.

ofcourse i remember the old chests. they usually were in fixed posistions and didnt require a key..this was before titles. lol when my monk tells this story to my paragon....epic adventures hes had years ago.

Peopel used to say they had 4 lvl 20 characters with like a whole bag of golds. i never beleved them.

i found out what 55ing was so i decided i'd give it ago. In order to be good i needed some expensive looking amor lol, i wanted this before i did the later ice missions such as THK.
This caused trouble for a fellow guildie. a simple run from thk to the grotto to get aftershock is easy. but when i dont have THK on the map and only iron mines being nearest.....
i died so easily and i watched him slay single handedly millions of ice imps to get me there. dying alot aswell and got a huge dp.

.........................now you can get aftershock from tomes and also kamadem..................the 55 build is also no longer that decent

OMG i just remembered the villianry of galrath. That was horrid back then.
the changing of item images is great. the dyes changed, the runes changed...
they changed imperial tokens a few times

i remember when over powered skills didnt exist and final thrust was the S***
i remember when noobs walked the earth and noone kicked you from a group for having a low rank
i remember when i beat fow for the first time a week ago... (played for over 2 years and never did it)
i remember when clearing out the catacombs was fun instead of a decent way of becoming a ldoa

When I got my first black dye in pre-searing when I started the game.

When I thought that by giving my characters attribute points I wouldn't be able to take them out and I'd have my build stuck forever.

When I didn't comprehend the concept of instances and was confused why I couldn't see my friend when I walked outside of ascalon

When I learned the concept of merchanting and haggling when mini-pets first came out.

When I was amazed at people soloing the desert missions, and I thought Healing Hands was some major uber skill of 1337ness.

Good times...

I remember the old dye system.
I remember the old premade pvp builds and me thinking the paladin was the best build ever...
I remember when people thought THK was hard.
I remember black dye being 10k+. And silver being 3k+. I was shocked when silver got under 1k.

- i remember when having no elite in your bar was a normal thing...
- i remember when people were nice and no 11 year olds roamed around trying to pick a fight or yelling "OMG HAHA BUTTSECKS!!" *sorry for the example, best i could think of, though*
- i remember when no one said "gay" and it was only "stupid"
- i remember when getting ascended meant you were a god
- when R/Mo's did Ascalon to Desert running and W/Mo did Drok's running... i made a fortune off of those ascalon to LA runs.
- when MM's had about 30 bone horrors/fiends.
- when GvG was intense and meant you rocked
- the pre-searing arena right before you left. How you would say you were ready to leave, then pop up in the Academy and do a 5 minute PvP game... I miss that... you can't ever pop into a group
- when doing Dragon's Lair was really hard... took me a week to get through it.
- when Monks went on their strike and Mesmers were respected.
- When Wammos were non-existant... you were a W/Mo and took on the mobs and were nice to everyone
- When you could be any class and get through the story line in good time... now if you wanna get through, you must be an Ele, Necro, or Mo to find a group fast.
- 55'ers made LOADS of cash
- when the elites came out
- Xmas '05 had the coolest bunch of people
- The Drok's arena...
- No PvP continent

Maybe GW2 will bring all the good in people back again. And it will all reset and the community will be respectful. I hope that happens... either way I'm making a Monk as my first GW2 character.

Just miss playing with clan members/pugs in Prophecies. Good times, no attitudes just experience it and have fun.
